The very real – and very scary – dangers of drunk driving were brought home last week when a bus filled with cheerleaders headed to an Orlando, Fla., competition was rammed head-on by a car being driven by a woman who wound up being charged with driving under the influence (DUI). The crash occurred at about 2 a.m. When the 22-year-old vehicle driver, Lisa Mills, reportedly began driving on Interstate 75, near the I-75/I-285 interchange.
Photos of the vehicle after the crash showed a very badly damaged 2015 Kia Optima, its front end, passenger side and even roof crushed in. Amazingly, none of the students was injured and some students reported seeing the driver of the car walking around after the accident.

Drunk driving accidents can be extremely serious, often involving life-changing injuries or fatalities. That’s a t least in part because drunk driver-related accidents can come from anywhere – like a car traveling the wrong way on an interstate – rather than someplace where collisions are more common, such as intersections. When we approach an intersection, for instance, we’re often on the lookout for drivers who may wind up speeding through the intersection, and so to some degree, we may be able to take evasive action that can limit the damage. With drunk drivers, there is no way to anticipate a potential accident and no way to take evasive action; they can come from almost anywhere.
Car Accident Lawyer Acworth
Each year in Georgia, about 1,200 people die in motor vehicle crashes and another 130,000 are injured – many seriously. Plus, those accidents result in millions and millions of dollars in property damage and lost wages, and that doesn’t begin to take into account the medical costs and the costs associated with pain and suffering and other quality of life concerns.
Insurance companies work day and night to limit the amount they have to pay to accident victims who are injured, and that means if you want to protect your rights, you need to fight back with your own legal representation to make sure your voice is heard.
