Can the Trucker and Truck Carrier Both be Sued in Georgia?

Many times both the trucker and the motor carrier, that is the trucking company, can be both sued in one lawsuit for any damages resulting from a trucking accident. There are some instances where the trucking company might not be responsible for the truck driver’s negligence. This usually occurs if the truck driver was operating outside of the company guidelines or other such factors. Also, the trucking company could be sued because they were negligent perhaps in hiring the driver, that is they did not perform a proper background check on the driver’s qualifications.
