Tired driving and car accidents. A lot of folks talk about texting and driving or about using cell phones and driving and about how dangerous those two behaviors are, but a lot of people forget that equally as important and equally as dangerous would be tired drivers on the road. Unfortunately, recently in Cobb County on Interstate 75, there was an accident which unfortunately again it was a fatality, but the investigating officials felt that drowsiness was probably a significant cause to the accident itself.
There are a number of factors that can indicate to you that the driver may be too sleepy to drive. One of the factors is when they’re constantly having to shake their head to keep their eyes open. You might be too tired to drive if you find yourself constantly blinking, if you find that your eyelids are heavy, or if you have trouble actually focusing. If you have trouble like I said keeping your head up or if you’ve been yawning for significant periods of time, it will probably is time to get off the road.
If you’re feeling restless or irritable or if you’re drifting from one portion of the lane to the other portion of the lane, again those are very significant signs you may be too tired to drive or that the other driver on the road is simply too tired to be driving. A surprising evidence of tired driving would be somebody who’s actually driving significantly lower than the speed limit.
