Trucking companies are required to do an annual inspection report on their trucks. The actual report is required to be kept in the truck itself. Here’s an example of the actual annual vehicle inspection report. As you can see, the annual inspection report is quite detailed. It includes the brake system, coupling devices, it also includes the exhaust system, the fuel system, all of the lighting devices, safe loading, it includes the steering mechanism, the suspension, the frame, the tires, the wheels and the rims, the windshield glazing, as well as windshield wipers.
You’ll note too on the form that it indicates that the trucking company is to list any other condition which may prevent safe operation of the vehicle. If you have a question about the annual inspection report that was done by the trucking company, then feel free to contact my office at 770-792-1000.
