Hi, I’m Roger Ghai of the Ghai Law Firm and my law firm handles cases nationally with regard to RoundUp. Now RoundUp is, as you may have known, is the weed killer that’s been used in everyday gardening and that type of a situation, as well as in agricultural industry, but it contains a product which the international agency on research on council has said it’s probably carcinogenic. Okay. And that’s the reason there’s been so many lawsuits that have been filed against the manufacturer of RoundUp.
Monsanto is the actual manufacturer of RoundUp, but they were bought out by Bear Ag. So now Bear Ag is defending all of these lawsuits throughout the country. There’s, as we speak today, there’s probably about 13,000 lawsuits. There’s been three verdicts, all favorable to the plaintiffs in the case. One was involving a man out in California who, as a maintenance man in his official duties for, I think it was the school district. He was very heavily exposed to RoundUp and it caused what we call Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is exactly what it’s known to cause. That was a verdict for $289 million in October of 2018. there was also a verdict earlier this year in San Francisco that was about $80 million for a man that was exposed to a RoundUp. Finally, there was a verdict last, I want to say in May, April or May of this year. It was actually a $2,055,000,000 verdict and it was a husband and wife who had used the RoundUp for over 30 years. The testimony was that there were no warnings about RoundUp, even though the odd thing is RoundUp doesn’t give any warnings about this, this particular product, but there are internal memos where, and the company has said to its employees, you need to wear protective gear.
At any rate, there’s been several favorable verdicts in favor of the plaintiffs in these cases and whether you’ve been exposed to it through an agricultural exposure or whether you just use it in everyday gardening over the course of several years and you’ve been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, please call my office (770) 792-1000.
