Rollover car accidents can cause very serious injuries. The manufacturers of the automobiles, of course, and other vehicles will argue that they are relatively rare. These accidents oftentimes happen because the vehicles sit higher above the road and oftentimes, the center of gravity is displaced. This makes it more likely that the vehicle will either veer out of control or will tip over. Despite that, there were nearly 8,000 people who lost their lives to rollover accidents in 2012.
Automobile manufacturers have responded by trying to increase the strength of the frames and also to improve technical factors to prevent rollovers. Most of the rollover accidents involve fatalities because the passenger or the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
